For The Uninspired Woman: After all the hardships we’ve been through, the pain we’ve endured, the disappointments we’ve faced and the self-doubt we’ve clung to. We still find ways to exist, we still find moments to be happy in. But what if we didn’t just exist, what if we tapped into a higher consciousness of our beings, what if we stripped away all the bullshit, sat on top of the world, looked into the galaxy and evolved into our full potential.
In today’s post we are going to focus on what can hinder the process of being the best versions of ourselves and ways to over come that.
- Stuck in your ways VS knowing who you are
- Behavioural patterns and routines
- Defining your evolution
Stuck in your ways VS knowing who you are.
The general consensus is that the older you get the more wiser you should be. However I’ve come across quite a few older people who wear a blanket of disguise. This blanket is full of confidence and character with a message that screams I know who I am although when you take a closer look underneath the blanket you’ll see a person who is stubborn and stuck in their ways.
Being stubborn and stuck in your ways is a very unattractive trait because you stop persevering in situations that you could benefit/ learn from. It’s an uneasy energy, fueled with ego that is generally not welcoming and lacks patience. Where as a person who knows who they are or are trying to under themselves have a more liberated, open and patient outlook on life.
Solution: Don’t forget that evolution is a process and it takes time, but it’s better to start the process then ignore it. So instead of being stuck in your ways, and thinking you’ve experienced everything that life has to offer. Use your time wisely to gain knowledge in different areas of your life, seek to listen to the perspective of others. That doesn’t necessarily mean you need to change your point of view, it just means being open to understanding different points of views. Remember knowledge is power but experience is growth.
Behavioural patterns & Routines
We are born into a world that encourages routines and patterns. From the day we were born, our parents were told or learned through trial and error that a baby needs a strict routine especially if you ought to get your daily tasks completed. There are various benefits to having a routine. It helps with the structure of our day which means we are less likely to procrastinate. When used correctly it can be an effective tool that helps us priortise our goals and monitor our progress. Mastering skills are also based on our behavioural patterns and routines, the more you do it the more you’ll improve.
With that being said when you’re stuck in a routine that serves no purpose to your happiness, it will have a detrimental effect on your well-being, whether that be mentally, physically or both.
In order to evolve into better versions of ourselves we need to acknowledge when our behavioural patterns are not progressing. A lot of us are consciously/ sub-consciously full of doubt and we may use techniques that may have worked for us in the past but it’s not an effective tool for us today because we’ve outgrown that technique which a lot of people fail to realize.
Example: Shani 22, wanted to be a musician. 4 years ago she attended college and would attend the studio twice a week where she would write music, record it and post it online. She gained quite a buzz and was very popular. She decided to take a break to focus on other things for personal reasons. Now 4 years later she’s ready to take her career seriously. She decided to use the old formula which worked well for her at the time. She attended a studio twice a week to write music, record and post it online. However she wasn’t creating much of buzz. She did this for months on end and felt completely defeated, which led her to sink into a depression.
Solution: Knowing when the right time to alternate your routine and behavioural patterns is crucial to your growth. Remember P.E.S.T there will always be a change in the Political, Economical, Social and technological climate therefore you have to be able to adapt. You can do this by educating yourself in each sector.
Reminder: This isn’t easy and it will be a struggle but it’s possible.
Defining your evolution
Evolution isn’t about accepting things that you aren’t happy with, it’s also not about being content, it’s about pushing boundaries and learning about who you are and learning about the world through experiences and not just books. Like I previously said knowledge is power and experience is growth. Evolution isn’t about knowing that everyone is different, it’s about understanding how everyone is different. Evolving takes courage and patience, but it will be worth it because it’s an advanced, enhanced version of yourself.
